Louvain Organic Nurseries

Established in 1970, Louvain is a small, traditional nursery on a natural and environmentally sensitive site on the edge of the South Downs National Park.


**Open for the season**

Wednesdays 10am - 5pm,

 Saturdays 10am - 1pm & Sundays 10am - 3pm

 

 

Available at the moment: freshly picked Salad and Chard, Kale, New Zealand Spinach, Rhubarb

Potted Herbs: Chives, Mints, Marjoram, Parsley, Tarragon, Thyme, Sorrel, Bay, Sage, Rosemary, Lavender & some others!  available in small & large sizes.

Vegetable  Plants:  various Salads, Chard, Kale  (Red Russian, Green Curly, Blue Scotch) & Brassica's in a mix of plugs, pots or 6 packs

Greenhouse plants: Tomato, Sweet Peppers, Cape Gooseberries, Aubergines, Tomatillos, Courgettes, Marrows, Pumkins & Squash 

Bedding plants  including Geraniums, Fuchsias, Begonias, Surfinia Petunias, Busy Lizzies, Marigolds, ivy & others (non organic but treated as organic on site).

 

Potted Apple, Pear & Plum trees 25-30

Fruit bushes (Raspberries, Gooseberries, Black Currents, Red Currents & White Currents, Josterberries, Gogi Berries & Blueberries, Tayberries & Mulberries).

Rhubarb, Horseradish, Jerusalem Artichokes, Globe Artichokes & Comfrey plants, Cardoons.

 

We also have a wide selection of shrubs & herbaceous plants.

 Local Honey from the hives at Louvain Nurseries.

 

* Moorland Gold organic seed & cutting 9.50 for a 40L bag. Awaiting delivery (Wed 19 Jun) of multi-purpose (8.50 for 40L bag) & potting & container compost (9.50 for 40L bag)

* Moorland Gold bags of Peat (recycled!) 7.50

* KPS organic soil improver 4.95 for 40L bag, KPS is Sussex based 

* Selection of plug trays, pots, labels and other sundries.

* Small selection of hand tools & gloves.

Since December 2007 we have been fully certified by The Soil Association, after being organic for nearly a decade. We make our own composts and use minimal, natural packaging and labeling, recycling wherever possible. Louvain does NOT use artificial fertilizers, chemical weed killers, fungicides or pest controls. We buy-in Summer and Autumn bedding to supplement our stock. A large range of fully-certified organic vegetables, greenhouse and herb plants are produced from May onwards. We offer a local delivery service
